1962年7月，全非妇女第一次代表大会在达累斯萨拉姆召开，成立了“全非妇女会议”（今名“泛非妇女组织”），确定每年的7月31日为“非洲妇女日”。这个组织的代表大会以及重大庆祝活动都在这天举行。

In July 1962, the first African women's Congress was held in Dar es Salaam, and the "all African women's conference" (now known as "Pan African women's organization") was established. The 31st July of each year was designated as "African women's Day". The organization's Congress and major celebrations are held on this day.

泛非妇女组织是非洲统一组织下属的全非性妇女组织，享有“非统”观察员地位。原名为全非妇女会议，在加纳、几内亚、坦桑等国的倡议下，于1962年7月在达累斯萨拉姆召开成立大会。1974年在第四次代表大会上改为现名。

Pan African women's organization (Pan African women's organization) is an all African women's organization under the organization of African Unity (OAU), which enjoys observer status with the OAU. Originally known as the All Africa women's conference, it was held in Dar es Salaam in July 1962 at the initiative of Ghana, Guinea, Tanzania and other countries. It was changed to its current name at the fourth congress in 1974.
